WHY IS IV HYDRATION SO VALUABLE?
IVs work by rapidly replenishing fluids, electrolytes, and vitamins. Factors such as age, activity level, illness, malabsorption issues, stress, and previous gastrointestinal surgery or disease can all influence how well your body can absorb supplements and medications when taken orally. IVs deliver 100% of the ingredients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract. Most patients report feeling the benefits of IV hydration immediately!
ARE IVS SAFE?
Yes! Our nurses and medical director are the best at what they do and our clinic provides a clean, sterile, comfortable and safe environment. We use the same fluids, medications and equipment that are used at the best hospitals.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
In general, for most patients it takes 30-60 minutes from start to finish, depending on the IV bag you choose, any add on services you select, and if you have received an infusion before.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
It depends on the infusion that you choose, but it will re-hydrate you, energize you, eliminate cramping and soreness, increase mental clarity, stop nausea and vomiting, stop migraines, strengthen your immune system, and overall, it will make you feel better. Improves the appearance of your hair, skin, and nails, flushes and detoxes your system, protects your kidneys, helps with metabolism and maximizing bodily functions, increases circulatory volume, increased energy, overall improved wellness and feeling of wellbeing. The effects of an infusion last for about five days.
HOW IS IT BETTER THAN WATER?
Water is free-fluid, meaning that it does not have electrolytes in it. Also, water has to be absorbed through your digestive tract, so it takes time for water to restore your fluid balance. IV fluids go directly into your bloodstream and contain necessary electrolytes to replace what you have lost.
ARE INJECTIONS THE SAME AS AN IV INFUSION?
No, injections are similar to an IV because they deliver essential vitamins and minerals into the body while bypassing the digestive tract to increase absorption and efficacy. Injections however, are given either via a shot directly into the muscle or pushed directly into the IV tubing at the end of your IV infusion. Injections are much less time consuming than an IV infusion and are more effective than taking oral supplements! As with IV infusions, the benefits of an injection can be felt immediately!
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
No, we do not accept private insurance, Medicare, nor Medicaid. However, our treatments are generally far less expensive than most co-pays, especially if you have not yet met your deductible for the year. We do, however, accept major credit cards, cash, and FSA or HSA accounts. (Your HSA and FSA account may refuse to reimburse. Make sure with them first, we offer no refunds if they do not)
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
Yes, appointments are necessary, this allows our medical director time to review your unique medical history and specific needs to ensure that we are able to give you the most effective IV options. One of our goals is to get you feeling better as quickly as possible, and by making an appointment, you ensure minimal to no waiting time. This gets you in and out as quickly as possible so you can get on with your busy life.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Side effects are usually minor and short-lived. They include bruising, bleeding from the site, and soreness. These are easily avoided by holding direct pressure after removal of the IV. Other far less common side effects include risk of infection and anaphylaxis, an extremely rare allergic reaction. Our highly trained medical professionals are well-versed in diagnosing and treating any and all possible side effects.
DOES IT HURT TO GET AN IV?
Typically no. Depending on your preference, we can start the IV without any numbing medicine or with a numbing spray that completely numbs the area so you don't feel a thing!
